Next, I got a crash course in resilience when my mom was diagnosed with (and eventually passed away from) Dementia, my daughter experienced a substance-induced psychosis, and another family member died suddenly from advanced cancer.
All of this made me think — “WTF?”
While helping my family navigate their health journeys, I began to dive into functional medicine, determined to get to the root cause of their problems and discover what their symptoms were communicating.
I learned that there’s so much that we can do to prevent “sudden” illness or disease. This inspired me to look at how I could further help postpartum women with the symptoms they experience that are often ignored.
